First State Residential Living - Direct Support Professional (DSP)
First State Residential Living is seeking Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) with flexible availability to work in our Group Homes located in Wilmington, DE 19803, 19808 and Bear, DE 19701.
PRN employment relationship with the flexibility to pick up any open shifts. Applicants must have weekend availability.
Competitive Compensation and 24/7 Shift Structure:
Bonuses between $925-$1,125 paid throughout EACH MONTH when you work qualifying shifts
Saturday and Sunday Day & Evening (8am-4pm; 4pm-12am): $22/hour
Saturday and Sunday Overnight (12am-8am): $20/hour
Monday through Friday Day (8am-4pm): $18.50/hour
Monday through Friday Evening (4pm-12am): $17.50/hour
Monday through Friday Overnight (12am-8am): $18/hour
Job Responsibilities for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs):
Assist individuals with activities of daily living (i.e., personal care, meals, medication)
Encourage individuals to participate in community activities.
Handling general housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
Supporting the individuals’ independence
Implement individualized plans of care.
Facilitate proper care to help meet the physical, emotional, and personal needs of the individual.

Qualifications for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs):
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older.
High school diploma or GED
Valid Delaware driver’s license with clean and acceptable driving record
Must be reliable, responsible, and compassionate.
A minimum of at least six (6) months’ experiences working in the last five (5) years within the following qualifying environments: Hospital, Nursing Home, Hospice, Assisted Living Facility, Rehabilitation Facility, Group Home (PREFERRED), Home Health Agency. NOTE: Not required if currently an active HHA or CNA.
Experience working with and supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities (IDD) preferred.
Experience working in a Group Home preferred, but not required.
1 Weekend per month is required.
Medical Requirements:
CPR/First Aid certified from approved DDDS vendor- hands on only
American Heart Association
American Red Cross
National Safety Council
American Safety & Health Institute
Negative Two-Step PPD test result (2 step, blood draw or Chest Xray)
Physical examination completed within three (3) months prior to employment.
Flu vaccine is required.
Drug screening is required.
Additional Requirements:
Provide two (2) professional references.
Meets the requirements of federal and/or state criminal and abuse background checks.
Ability to pass all required trainings, including DDDS-specific trainings, LLAM and MANDT/UKERU
